Evaluating the Effects of Flooding Stress during Multiple Growth Stages in Soybean

چکیده

Flooding is becoming an increasing concern for soybean (Glycine max [L.] Merr.) production worldwide due to the sensitivity of most cultivars grown today flood stress. can stunt plant growth and limit yield, causing significant economic loss. One sustainable approach improve performance under stress develop flood-tolerant cultivars. This study was conducted evaluate genotypes response at three critical stages production—germination, early vegetative (V1 V4), reproductive (R1). The results demonstrated that imposed by flooding significantly affected yield each stage studied. average germination rate over various treatments ranged from 95% 46%. Despite poor rates after extended treatments, maintained a >80% 8 h flooding. susceptible lower, ranging 58–63%. Imposing V1 V4 also resulted in differences between tolerant genotypes. Genotypes with highest level tolerance continually outperformed 30% decrease foliar damage based on visual scoring 10% increase biomass. 25% higher compared These suggest breeding resiliency during crucial conditions. In addition, developed this research be used as stock further make improvements soybean.

the effect of e-64 on the developmental competence of sheep cocs during in vitro maturation

in the present study, the effect of e-64 at different concentrations (0.5, 1, 5 and 10 µm) added to (1) the ivm medium on oocyte nuclear maturation and developmental competence of ovine oocytes, and (2) to the ivc medium on embryonic development of ovine embryos were investigated.

Soybean adaptation to water stress at selected stages of growth.

Soybean (Glycine max [L.] Merr. cv Braxton) plants were grown in sandy soil with only natural rainfall (N) or with supplemental irrigation (I). Water-stressed plants grew more extensive root systems, whereas irrigated plants developed larger shoots and smaller root systems. Maximum stomatal apertures were observed at the beginning of each photoperiod. Partial stomatal closure occurred each afte...

the effects of changing roughness on the flow structure in the bends

flow in natural river bends is a complex and turbulent phenomenon which affects the scour and sedimentations and causes an irregular bed topography on the bed. for the reason, the flow hydralics and the parameters which affect the flow to be studied and understand. in this study the effect of bed and wall roughness using the software fluent discussed in a sharp 90-degree flume bend with 40.3cm ...

Potassium pools equilibration during growth stages of two rapeseed cultivars under drought stress

ABSTRACT- Different soil potassium (K) pools including soluble, exchangeable and non-exchangeable in surface and subsurface soils may be totally used by canola roots at different growth stages under drought conditions. A field experiment was conducted for one growing season (2013-2014) to study K pools changes during growth stages of two rapeseed cultivars under drought. The experiment was arra...

Evaluating the effect of dietary soybean oil on growth performances of juvenile severum (Heros severus)

Evaluating the effect of dietary soybean oil (S.O) on growth performances of juvenile ornamental fish Severum (Heros severus) was the main objective of this study. To achieve this objective, 462 fish were considered which were divided into 7 test groups including 6 groups of fishes (with an initial average weight of 0.6 ± 0.05 g and length of 2.3±0.35 cm) fed diets containing 6 levels of S.O (D...
